Elev
en-year-old Taylor Johnson is a poised young lady – both
as part of a team and in the classroom. The soon-to-be sixth grader has been a
straight-A student since the very beginning, and has received numerous awards
for her academic achievements. Here, Taylor answers our questions as this
issue’s Athlete of the Month.
GT: What sports do
you play?
TJ: Cub Soccer for my school and Travel Soccer for the
Evansville Soccer Club, basketball, cheer, volleyball and swimming.
Which of those do you
enjoy the most?
Probably Travel Soccer and swimming.
What’s your favorite
subject in school?
Math.
What is the most
challenging thing about balancing school and sports?
Definitely my time, because I do so many sports, and I have
homework, and lots of afterschool activities like Student Council.
What is the best or
most rewarding thing about being on a team?
I get to meet a lot of new people from traveling… and I keep
in shape.
Who’s the biggest
influence in your life?
My family, because they tell me to keep going and they
encourage me to do what I believe in.
Do you have time for anything but sports and school?
I do afterschool activities, but I don’t have time for much
else.
Well Taylor, your
answers have been very well thought out and we appreciate your time.
Thank you.
