Walk-N-Roll With CJ’s Bus – August 21

 

Angel Mounds is proud to host Walk-N-Roll, a 2-mile walk and 5K run to raise awareness and funds for CJ’s Bus. CJ’s Bus is a rapid-response mobile unit that offers nationwide assistance in the aftermath of natural disasters. It was established by co-founder Kathryn Martin in honor of her 2-year old son, CJ, and other family members who were lost in the same F3 tornado that desolated Angel Mounds in 2005. To register as a participant, contact Mark Rumsey at (812) 305-2268 or mark@cjsbus.org The walk begins at 7:30 a.m. and the run begins at 8:30 a.m.

 

Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe) – 812-464-cMoe (2663)

 

Military Appreciation Day – August 15

 

On this day, all military personnel and one child are admitted to the Museum free.

 

“Stained Glass” – August 18

 

Children are led through the creation of a craft project. Event is from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

 

“Design Your Own Boat” – August 21

 

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lobby of the Museum, participants can use materials provided to engineer their own floating craft.

 

“Psychedelic Bookmarks” – August 25

 

Design and create your very own colorful and unique bookmark with the help of Museum staff. Event is from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

 

“Suds and Bubbles” – August 28

 

Big bubbles, whirlpools, water drop races and all kinds of sudsy, watery fun await participants during this event, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Kids and Grandparents Day” – September 12

 

Join the Museum in the annual celebration of diverse generations at 1 p.m. as the facility will offer guests special exhibitions, performances, information booths and more. You don’t even need to be a grandparent or parent to join in the fun. Reservations are not required and the event is free.
